C. Michael Darcy Scholarship
Named in honor of Dr. C. Michael Darcy, a strong union activist, PEF member and former associate director of the Teacher Educational Development Services at SUNY Albany, this fund awards a $1,000 scholarship to a PEF member (SG-18 or lower) or his/her child to ease the peripheral expenses of someone who has begun to pursue higher education. It may be used for tuition and fees, books, instructional supplies, living expenses, childcare and/or transportation. Please note: 2010 Application forms must be submitted by August 31, 2010.

High School Graduation Award
Daughters and sons of members of PEF Division 194 who graduate from high school or receive a GED high school equivalency diploma between September 1, 2009 and August 31, 2010 are eligible to receive a money award from our Division. This award recognizes the educational achievements of our members' children and extends good wishes to them in their future endeavors. PEF Division 194 has been making these awards since 1992.
The Division Stewards have appropriated $4,000 to be divided equally among each graduating senior. In order to receive an award, PEF members must send the following documentation and information via US Mail to:

- Documentation of his or her son's or daughter's graduation from high school (9/1/2009-8/31/2010): photocopy of diploma, final transcript, or other evidence of a diploma or certificate recognized in Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, Part 100
- Name, job title, work location, and work phone number of PS&T employee
- Name and current US Mail address of the PS&T employee (PEF member) who is the parent of the student eligible to receive the award
Note: All documentation and information is due by October 1, 2010.
Textbook Rebate
PEF Division 194 will rebate members enrolled in credit-bearing post-secondary courses for up to three terms annually a maximum of $50 per term to offset the cost of books. In order to receive a rebate, the member must provide proof of enrollment and book receipt(s). Documentation should be sent to:

Defensive Driving
PEF Education Division 194 pays for members who take Defensive Driving offered at SED and at PEF Headquarters. Defensive Driving is offered at SED four times a year (February, April, September and October) at the Education Department in Albany.
